Rust Belt introduces Oktoberfest brew

This fall, Rust Belt Brewing Co. introduced its own version of Oktoberfest. Kevin Alquist brings us information on this local product.

Rust Belt beer has been brewed at the B&O station for four years. This year, brewer and founder Ken Blair introduced the popular style of amber lager, Oktoberfest. He says the new product has been a success.

We did one batch of it and it’s sold out. Currently it’s at Magic Tree and O’Donald’s downtown.

Blair says most of his beers are named after the region known as the Rust Belt.

It’s branded after the steel mills, the steel industry and the blue-collar worker.

The beers range from ales to lagers to stouts and are available at local beer distributors and other locations.

For year round availability we have our Blast Furnace Blonde, our Coke Oven Stout and our Old Man Hopper IPA. We also have our Rusted River Irish Red, which is our biggest seller.

To see the beer brewed in person, visit the B&O station in downtown Youngstown. For, this is Kevin Alquist.
