The general elections are about a month away… The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown is helping voters clarify the issues. Chris Davidson reports:

15-Thousand copies of the league’s voter guide will be distributed in Mahoning County this week. Dr. Barbara Brothers, with the league, says the guide is non-partisan:

In the voter guide, we do not take a stand. We give a summary of the ballot language and there will be a pro and con – both sides

The guide is free:

The voter guide is supported by local companies who donate money. Therefore in the voter guide there is no advertisement or lobbying.

Brothers says the United States needs informed voters:

I don’t think we have really placed enough emphasis on that fact that voting is a responsibility, as well as a right and with that responsibility comes certain things to educate yourself.

Brothers says one way you can educate yourself is to pick up a copy of the voter’s guide. You can find copies at public libraries, churches and coffee shops.
